O Cio da Terra

A Travessia is an unprecedented cultural event. The film describes a Chinese couple’s legendary experience during the shootings of the documentary film Charm of Culture, searching for traces of the 15th Century’s European “gold rushers” in the “world’s melting pot of races”.

Link and Viviana were born during the shooting voyage. The two accompanied their parents’ journey since their births, recording the world they as saw on the cameras. They are “recorders” and “performers”. Today, Link conducts simultaneous translation for the film in Brazilian Portuguese, Indigeneous languages and Mandarin Chinese; and Viviana performs her interpretation and understanding of the film’s theme song Cio da Terra.
